If you overpaid the rent because your landlord granted you an illegal rent increase, you have two options: if a tenant challenges a 10-day delay in terminating the lease until the five-day period, the termination is suspended until an arbitrator makes a decision. 11 A lessor must ensure that any lease agreement entered into or extended by the lessor on the date or after the law comes into force is in compliance with that part. A fixed-term tenancy agreement may include a specific date on which the tenant must move. If no date is given and the landlord and tenant do not sign a new lease, the contract is automatically converted into a month-to-month lease and all other terms of the contract remain in effect.
